Orders for baking may be place up until 4:00 PM on the evening before baking. We take orders by phone and by fax. For best service, use our order form. A copy of these policies is available as a pdf here. Not all breads or sweets are baked every baking day-if you have questions about what will be available, just ask. If you are interested in ordering both sweets and bread, for maximum freshness we recommend having us bake the sweets the day before the bread. Bread can be ordered unsliced if desired, and we’re flexible on packaging. Let us know what you need, and we’ll see what we can do.
Packaging
Our breads come packaged as single loaves and are generally sliced and buns are generally packaged in half-dozens. Muffins and bars come packaged by the half-dozen. Cookies are usually shipped in dozen bags, however, select varieties (including Thunders, Chocolate Chips, and Skimarks) are available packed in shelf-ready, UPC-coded half-dozen boxes.
Distribution
All sizes of orders are available for pickup from our storefront at no additional cost. Items will come packaged for carrying out in bags or recycled boxes.
If you’re in Duluth, we can deliver our bread and cookies to you on the day they’re baked in our van. Our delivery area runs east to 26th Ave E, north to 8th St, west to Mesaba Ave and south to the lakefront. There is a $15 per delivery charge for a simple drop-off, and a $35 per delivery charge if you’d like us to stock your shelves and take returns.
We ship all sizes of orders across the midwest using Speedee Delivery. Almost all of Minnesota and much of Wisconsin is reachable in under 24 hours. Our charge for shipping is simply the Speedee rate plus $1 handling per box. For example, a full box of 16 small loaves ships for $7 total for a per-loaf shipping cost of just $0.43. In the unlikely event that your shipment arrives late, you will receive half credit for bread and muffins that arrive one day late, and full credit for bread and muffins that are two days late.
If you live outside of Speedee’s delivery area, but you absolutely must have your Positively 3rd St. Bakery fix, we can work with you. Simply arrange and prepay for a pickup with Fedex, UPS, USPS, or the national carrier of your choice and fax us the shipping label. Your only shipping charge from us will be the $1/box handling fee.
Pricing and Payment
See our pricing sheet for current prices. Wholesale prices are available to anyone who places an order in advance of the day of baking. One exception: wholesale pricing is not available on granola packaged in bags smaller than 5 pounds, regardless of the total order size. In general, we send invoices with shipments and drop them off with deliveries. Our terms of payment are generally NET 30, with the exception of non-wholesale in-store pickups, which are due immediately. We accept payment by cash (please do not mail) and check (business and personal).
